Common App Workshop
The start of senior year comes fast and the first few months of school can be very busy. The number one thing students say to us is that they wish they had started earlier!
What It Is:
One day, 3-hour workshop
In-person group format for a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 students
Creation of a Common App account
Step-by-step instructions to complete the “My Common Application” section, including the activities list
Adding colleges to the “My Colleges” section
Understanding FERPA & completion of the FERPA waiver
Tips for requesting letters of recommendation
Discussion of college-specific questions and how to answer 2 of the most common supplemental essay questions
Advice on how to report test scores
Breakout sessions for independent work
Each student receives (1) 30-minute virtual follow-up within 30 days of workshop
How It Works:
Gather between 5-10 friends
Choose & confirm a location to host the workshop
Schedule & confirm a day and time for the workshop
Collect the workshop fee and forward payment to CAP Advisory
Show up, have fun, get work done!
