About me

I have always been passionate about learning and consider myself a life-long student. As a first generation college student, I graduated cum laude with my bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science degree from Columbia University. Years later, I returned to formal instruction and earned my Certificate with Distinction in College Counseling from UCLA Extension.

Staying current in the ever-changing college admissions landscape is critical to providing the most accurate information to students and families. To this end, I continue my professional development as a WOW Certified Essay Coach, an associate member of IECA, a member of NJACAC &PACAC, attending counselor-only college admissions and financial aid webinars, and visit dozens of colleges every year.

Both my daughter and my son are recent college graduates, yet their journeys were extremely different. Having this personal connection to the variations in the college admissions process allows me to recognize the unique qualities and goals of each student and how these will shape their particular path. Paying utmost attention to the individual student and working together to find their best post-secondary fit is my goal. 

My passion for learning, together with a passion to help students has led to the formation of CAP Advisory. Together, we will take a personalized approach to the college admissions process and I will be with you every step of the way. I look forward to working with you! ~ Sue
